Stop Copying Me GCB!

Suburgatory
Emma on Glee
As if it's not enough for Emma Pillsbury from Glee and Ana Gasteyer on Suburgatory to do it, now Kristen Chenowith has gone and worn my dress on GCB.
Kristen Chenowith
GCB is my favorite new show btw. When my friends do it I try to be gracious reminding myself that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. However these actresses are out of control. Don't the show's stylists realize it's been done?  On the bright side, if you look closely you'll notice that there are actually slight differences among all of our dresses.

Sister's weekend

When my sister visits me I try to squeeze in as many slightly touristy things that my friends would not want to do as possible.  This resulted in a highly productive weekend.  Here are just a few of the things we did.
  • Dirt Candy, a vegetarian restaurant that makes vegetables taste delicious.  I am one of those vegetarians that prefers candy to vegetables and I still loved this place.
  • Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit at Discovery Times Square
  • Porgy and Bess on Broadway starring Audra McDonald, Norm Lewis, and David Alan Grier.  This has to win a couple Tonys and is a total must see.
  • We rented Tower Heist starring Ben Stiller.  I really needed light and funny after Porgy and Bess.
  • Newsies on Broadway.  We were delighted to see so many So You Think You Can Dance alums in the ensemble.  We also sat near Nick Jonas.  I never would have recognized him, but the elderly couple next to me spotted him right away.  The only thing that could have made it better would have been if Christian Bale himself revived his role as Jack Kelly.  Jeremy Jordan was awesome though.
  • The Hunger Games.  My sister read all the books so she really wanted to see this movie.
  • I introduced her to 5 bakeries that make French Macarons and here is how she ranks them            (1) Bouchon Bakery (2) LadurĂ©e (3) Chickalicious (4) Artichoke (5) Financier

Good Times

This song will forever remind me of my first trip to Vegas with 3 lovely ladies.  Calvin Harris was the DJ at XS, the club we went to in the beautiful Encore Hotel.  I can't stop smiling listening to this and thinking how blessed I am to have such beautiful friends who share my love of dancing.

Octopi

There is nothing I like to shop for less than a bathing suit, but I did manage to find a couple for my trip to Ft. Lauderdale/Miami last weekend.  I especially loved this one that I found at Bloomingdales.

I opened a credit card there so I could check off another one of my New Year's resolutions and get 20% off in the process. I finally got #4 on my fashion bucket list, a Burberry Trench. My sister is bringing it tomorrow when she comes to visit. I had it shipped to her in South Carolina to avoid sales tax and I got free shipping.  Obviously.  I have many tricks up my sleeve for getting luxury items at a fraction of the price.  Waiting for this coat is taking every bit of patience I can muster.   It's perfect for the beautiful spring weather we're having in the city right now.  Hooray.

Mean

You, have pointed out my flaws again as if I don't already see them
I'll walk with my head down trying to block you out 'cause I'll never impress you

Knee High

Even in the dead of winter I prefer to wear short shorts around the house.  While counterintuitive, these socks make me warm and make me feel slightly more demure.  My favorite outfits has to be a raggedy tee, tiny shorts and these socks on a cold night in a super warm apartment.  Just thinking about it makes me all warm and happy inside.  I just added the hot pink and navy from American Apparel to my collection.  I still want green of course.

Viva Las Vegas

I have never see so many LV stores as I did in Las Vegas.  (I think I counted 5!)  I guess it makes sense since they share the same initials, but it seemed a little much to me.  I've never been a Louis Vuitton fan.  I was excited to see a couple Chanel stores.

Last weekend in Pittsburgh was so much fun but I am still waiting for pictures.  I have now mastered the trek to and from JFK.
